The multi-layered, organic structure accompanied by the variable left-hand pressures and the use of the moving bow is at the forefront of this work. This process allows each extended sound to come to distinction with a complex color variety that is open to sonic surprises. All gestures heard in this color automation – hidden in this variety – encompass a kind of "ghost motif" character; they emerge throughout the “flow form.” In addition to the second version of this work with fixed media, a third version is also available. This version is configured with an amplification system known as a “transducer.” The magnetic reflectors placed under the body of the instrument are connected to the computer with a connector, making all the effects sent from the computer resonate on the cello's soundboard. This transforms the instrument's body into a unique speaker, creating a second organic layer.

Studio Recording & Editing: Fernando Romero / Granada - Spain

Mix & Mastering: Mehmet Ali Uzunselvi / ICC Studios, Istanbul - Turkey

*This work was premiered on 24 March 2022, at XXIV Contemporary Music Festival of Córdoba (Spain) by cellist Juan Aguilera Cerezo.

Transviolucer

<iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zi8cPeib464?start=3&feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; The timbral atmosphere of the piece is generated by joining two different process, deformation of the pre-recorded acoustic instruments to be used as midi samples and using prepared acoustical instruments to create a rich transitional sound color pallet. As a result joining two sound worlds (acoustic and sample sounds), an audible illusion is created in a way difficult to be defined which one is from one of the sources.

The piece commissioned by Ensemble Airborne Extended on April 2017.

Performed by Ensemble Airborne Extended in Eskişehir ( 28.02.2018 )

Ensemble Airborne Extended:

Piccolo : Elena Gabbrielli

S.recorder : Caroline Mayrhofer

Harp : Elisabeth Plank

Midi keyboard : Sonja Leipold
